Lucius Verus (AD 161-169) AV-Aureus (20.6 mm, 7.23 g, 12h). Rome mint, 166.
Obv. L VERVS AVG ARM PARTH MAX, Laureate and cuirassed bust of Lucius Verus to right, seen from behind.
Rev. TR P VI IMP IIII COS II, Victory standing front, head to right, holding palm branch in her right hand and placing on palm tree a shield inscribed VIC / PAR.
RIC III 564 (Aurelius); BMC M. Aurelius and L. Verus 430 note; Calicó 2190a; Cohen 278; MIR 141-12/35.
A beautiful example with a good portrait and a intresting and old pedigree. Scrape on the obverse and with minor scratches and some minor deposit on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
